Packing Lists

Hiking Trips

  • Sleeping sheet or sleeping bag liner and pillowcase (blankets & duvets are provided)
  • Good quality rain Coat and Pants (with hat or hood)
  • Walking Boots that give ankle support
  • Warm wool sweater or fleece coat
  • Hat with a brim for sun and rain.  Sun Glasses
  • Shirts and pants.  (Long sleeves are higher priority than short sleeves)
  • Warm Shirt (wool) + pair of light long underwear (polypro)
  • Personal Toiletries including sun screen + insect repellent
  • Small Towel, water bottle, flashlight or headlamp. Any personal medication
  • Mid-size Pack which holds all personal equipment plus small amount of group food (Approximately 50 litres volume)
  • Early July and September – light gloves, warm hat, and gaiters would be helpful
  • Hiking poles – if  you like to use poles, then please bring them.
Note: It is very important to pack as lightly as possible a. Only pack small amounts of toothpaste, soap etc.  There is reading material in the chalets, so a book may not be needed.  There are games and cards.  There are also slippers in the buildings, so consider leaving extra shoes behind.  You will need to help carry a small amount of group food, so leave some room in the top of your pack.  

Canoeing Trips

  • Sleeping Bag
  • Good quality rain Coat and Pants (with hat or hood)
  • Running shoes for camp
  • Shoes for the boat - diving shoes or flip flops
  • Hat with a brim for sun and rain.  Sun Glasses
  • Shirts and pants (both short and long sleeves)
  • Warm wool or fleece coat
  • Personal Toiletries including sun screen + insect repellent
  • Towel, water bottle, flashlight or headlamp. Any personal medication
  • Duffle bag or pack which holds all personal equipment
Note: packing in a duffle is preferable to packing in a pack.  We will put your duffle bag into a dry bag for loading in and out of the boat. Also no that on the canoe trip, unlike the hiking trip, you are able to bring such extras as books and other like items.
